Performing Arts and Spirituality

Bhavish Adwani, Year 12 directed a Social awareness play for the Chinmaya mission during the vacation. This play was staged on 25th April, 2018 at Graha Sindhu  for a packedaudience including Swami Swaroopananda, Head of Chinmaya Mission, Worldwide. Zubin Amar, year 10 played an important role in the play as one of the five young adults.

The play Drop It! is based on the novel Drop by the 5th batch Chinmaya Yuvaveers who were part of the missions Youth Empowerment Program under the guidance of Swami Mitrananda. The story revolves around 5 young adults as they take a journey around India, with their backpack full of questions and discover a treasure trove of answers on an adventure-filled trip. Each place in the journey presents a new challenge, teaching the characters along with the audience what they need to drop in order to be able to move on in life. The youth of today are so busy trying to be cool. What is cool? Is it Drugs? Is it Smoking?  or Is it Alcohol?  But have they ever thought that above all that being a good, true person is also cool. Our virtues, our culture and our teachings should be our foundation to being a cool person.

Congratulations to Bhavish and Zubin for their initiative to create social awareness and empower the youth with the skills for the future.
