Indonesian Independence Day

An essential part of Beacon Academy students’ learning is the embodiment of a whole and dedicated citizen. Students are educated on honoring their country and to have strong sense of nationalism. These are the reasons why Beacon Academy celebrates Indonesia’s 73rd Independence Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by traditional independence day games.

The ceremony was attended by the whole school community without exception. Students, teachers, staff members and parents all participated with full enthusiasm. Students performing their roles as honor guards were able to cherish their hard work when the ceremony went without a glitch.

After the flag ceremony, students participated in a series of traditional games such as the bakiak race, eating crackers (makan krupuk), sack race and more. It was a remarkable day to see the smiles of the children honoring Indonesia’s Independence Day.
