TEDx BA Youth

Attending the first-ever TEDx x BA Youth event was a genuinely impressive experience. It felt like a significant milestone for our school, and it was rewarding to see the “Awakened Mind” theme explored in such a tangible way. What stood out most wasn’t just the talks themselves, but the quiet competence and dedication that made the entire day possible.

This was, first and foremost, a student-run effort, and that fact was evident in all the right ways. A large team of students managed everything from marketing and communications to the live production and recording. There’s a big difference between having an idea and actually executing it, and the team did more than just execute, they built a professional and smoothly-run event from the ground up. Seeing our peers handle such a complex project with such capability was, for me, the real core of the “Awakened Mind” in action. It was a powerful demonstration of what practical, applied intelligence and collaboration look like.

The selection of speakers also contributed to a grounded and thoughtful atmosphere. By including parents, teachers, and students, the event offered a well-rounded set of perspectives that felt true to our community. The talks weren’t about grand, unreachable ideas, but rather relatable insights and personal reflections that sparked genuine conversation. It felt less like a performance and more like a shared dialogue, which made the themes more accessible and impactful.

Overall, the event was a strong and promising start. The team should feel a deep sense of accomplishment for what they have built. They’ve created a new platform for our community’s voices and have set a solid foundation for this to become a lasting tradition at Beacon. It was a clear demonstration of student potential realized through hard work, and that’s something the entire school can be proud of.
