Growth, Discovery, and Connection: Year 6 Week Without Walls 2026

The Week Without Walls (WWW) Year 6 trip to Lembang, Bandung, showed just how much learning comes alive when students step beyond the classroom walls. From September 30 to October 2, 2026 our Year 6s headed up to the cool, pine-scented hills of Trizara Resort for three days packed with hands-on discovery, teamwork, and personal growth. The trip was thoughtfully designed around five core learning outcomes that carry directly over into their report cards: gaining self-awareness, taking on new challenges, collaborating with peers, showing perseverance, and building practical new skills.

Right from the start, the children jumped headfirst into group challenges and outdoor activities designed to build trust and open communication. Working together through team games, soccer, and cycling around the green resort grounds pushed them to listen to one another, solve problems on the spot, and adapt quickly. As the day wound down, the fast pace gave way to quiet personal reflection in their journals, allowing them to process what they learned about themselves before gathering around a warm campfire for evening stories and bonding.

The educational experience deepened as the forest turned into a living classroom. During an ecological trek through Lorong Lumut, students closely examined moss ecosystems and forest ecology before putting their creativity to work in a hands-on eco-printing session, using botanical structures to create leaf-patterned fabric art. Later, an off-road Jeep ride to Orchid Forest Lembang offered an exhilarating lesson in courage and trust, where students constantly impressed teachers and guides alike with their curiosity, safety-mindedness, and genuine gratitude toward the staff.

The final day brought a wonderful blend of cultural learning, social independence, and celebration at the Floating Market Bandung. Navigating the unique floating stalls gave students a real-world lesson in budgeting and decision-making as they selected local foods and picked out oleh-oleh (souvenirs) for their families. Capping off the trip on the rainbow slide and GoKart track gave them a well-earned chance to celebrate all they had accomplished together before heading back to Jakarta.

Throughout the entire journey, evening reflection circles helped the children connect their day-to-day experiences to their own character development, celebrating personal wins and identifying areas where they can continue to grow. Their stellar manners, resilience, and positive attitudes made them wonderful representatives of our school community every step of the way. Ultimately, this year’s WWW trip proved that when learning is rooted in real-world exploration and heart, it creates lessons and memories that stay with students forever.
