Jakarta, 22 May 2026 — Beacon Academy proudly hosted its PYP Exhibition 2026 on Thursday, 22 May 2026, marking the culminating learning experience for Year 5 students in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). The exhibition celebrated students’ inquiry, creativity, research, and meaningful action inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Over several weeks, students undertook in-depth inquiries into a variety of global and local issues affecting communities and the environment. Through research, collaboration, and reflection, they investigated real-world challenges and explored practical ways to make a positive impact within their communities.
The exhibition featured an inspiring collection of student-led projects and campaigns addressing topics such as environmental conservation, waste segregation, community cleanliness, healthy lifestyles, wellbeing, and fundraising initiatives to support underprivileged communities.
Among the many engaging projects was an inquiry into Human Impact on the Sustainability of Marine Ecosystems, which explored how human activities affect marine biodiversity while encouraging greater awareness of environmental conservation from an early age.
Visitors had the opportunity to interact directly with the students as they confidently presented their research findings, shared their learning journeys, and demonstrated the actions they had taken throughout the inquiry process. The exhibition showcased not only students’ academic understanding but also their ability to communicate ideas, think critically, collaborate effectively, and reflect on their learning.
As the culminating experience of the IB Primary Years Programme, the PYP Exhibition encourages students to take ownership of their learning by connecting classroom knowledge with authentic global issues. Throughout the process, learners develop essential skills in inquiry, research, communication, creativity, and collaboration while strengthening the IB Learner Profile attributes and a sense of social responsibility.
