At Beacon Academy, fostering a strong connection between parents, teachers, and students is a priority, and the recent Class Visits event provided the perfect opportunity to strengthen this partnership. During the week of September 24- 26,2024, parents were invited to step into the classroom and experience firsthand what a typical day of learning looks like for their children.
Parents of students from Y1-Y5 were welcomed into the classrooms, where they observed engaging lessons, interactive activities, and dynamic teaching methods. From phonics and math to group discussions and hands-on projects, the visit showcased the well-rounded and inquiry-based approach that Beacon Academy is known for.
One parent remarked, “It’s amazing to see how much effort goes into making learning so fun and engaging. My child always talks about school, but now I truly understand what they mean when they say they love coming to class.”
For the students, having their parents in the classroom was an exciting moment. It gave them a chance to showcase their learning and share their achievements. The presence of family members encouraged a sense of pride and boosted their confidence, as they demonstrated their knowledge and skills. After the classroom sessions, parents had the opportunity to provide feedback and reflect on the experience. Many expressed gratitude for being given the chance to observe and actively participate in their child’s education.
The Class Visit is an important event in building the bridge between home and school, and Beacon Academy is committed to continuing this practice. By inviting parents into the classroom, the school fosters a greater understanding of the educational journey, empowering parents to be active participants in their child’s academic success.
