On Friday, September 20,2024 Junior School at Beacon Academy held its much- anticipated Annual Walk-a-Thon, an event that brings together students, parents, and staff for a day of fitness, fun, and philanthropy. The Walk-a-Thon is not just about walking — it’s about raising awareness and funds for important causes while fostering a sense of community.
From Y1 to Y5 students, everyone laced up their sneakers and took to the track, walking laps around the school field. The energy was palpable, with students proudly walking and cheering each other on.
Beyond raising funds, the Walk-a-Thon promotes health and fitness. Students were encouraged to walk at their own pace, with some choosing to challenge themselves with more laps while others enjoyed the social aspect of walking with friends and teachers. Water fountains and music added to the festive atmosphere, keeping everyone hydrated and motivated.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the Walk-a-Thon is the strong sense of community it fosters. Parents and teachers, got involved, sponsoring students or donating to the cause. Volunteers helped with organizing the event, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The collaborative spirit demonstrated the power of collective effort in making a positive difference.
The Beacon Academy Walk-a-Thon continues to be an annual tradition that unites the school community, instills healthy habits, and makes a meaningful impact on society. With every step, students learn the importance of giving back while having fun and staying active. We are already looking forward to next year’s Walk-a-Thon and the opportunities it will bring to make an even bigger difference!
