One Voice, One Symphony: A Celebration of Music at the Junior School Home Concert 2026

The Junior School Home Concert 2026 at Beacon Academy marked a meaningful milestone in students’ musical journey this year. As part of the school’s ongoing commitment to the music curriculum, this event provides a valuable opportunity for students to showcase their learning, creativity, and confidence through performance. The concert is planned as an annual celebration of students’ musical growth and achievements and is part of the Music Department’s annual programme, Beacon Music Week.

Students from Year 1 to Year 5 performed with great enthusiasm, using both their voices and a variety of instruments such as recorder, pianica, ukulele, violin, piano, and percussion. They also explored world traditional instruments, including angklung, rindik, dutar, and djembe. Their performances reflected not only their developing technical skills but also their growing confidence in expressing themselves through music.

The programme featured a wide range of performances, such as solo singing, solo instrumental pieces, class singing, ensembles, vocal groups, as well as contributions from the JS String Orchestra and Choir. Each segment was carefully arranged to create a smooth and engaging flow, forming a connected musical journey. Through this, students also conveyed important messages aligned with the IB Learner Profile and the school’s virtues.

This year’s theme, “One Voice, One Symphony: The Journey of Music & Culture,” highlighted the power of music to unite different voices and cultures into one harmonious experience.

The event was attended by teachers, staff, and parents, whose presence and support made the concert a proud and memorable experience for the entire school community.
