Beacon Academy Welcomes Hale School, Perth for an Inspiring Leadership Visit

As part of our ongoing efforts to build global partnerships, Beacon Academy was honored to welcome Dean Dell’Oro, Headmaster of Hale School in Perth, Western Australia, and Andrine Terry from the Hale School Foundation on 10 September 2024.

Dean Dell’Oro has been the Headmaster at Hale School since 2017. Prior to this role, he held several leadership positions at Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, including Head of Boarding and Head of Campus, bringing with him a wealth of experience in educational leadership.

The visit began with an engaging introduction to the history and values of Beacon Academy, followed by a campus tour led by Arvind Chalasani and Richard Sidharta. During the tour, Dean and Andrine had the opportunity to interact with teachers and students. Our students impressed with their confidence, proudly sharing what makes Beacon Academy unique—highlighting our inclusive, diverse community and the openness with which the leadership team listens to their thoughts and ideas.

Dean Dell’Oro also had an insightful meeting with our Senior Leadership Team to discuss the implementation of positive discipline. Together, they explored how Beacon can continue to grow while maintaining compassionate and empathetic leadership. The conversation touched on the challenges faced by expanding schools and the strategies needed to adapt for the future.

The visit concluded with a delightful lunch featuring local delicacies. Both teams expressed enthusiasm for potential student and teacher collaborations in the future. We look forward to future partnerships as we work on strengthening global connections with institutions like Hale School.
