Music Week is a celebration of music at Beacon Academy Jakarta, inspired by Indonesia’s National Music Day on March 9. Throughout the week, musical performances take place across the entire school. The event opens with a Junior School Angklung Ensemble, followed by daily solo and group performances—both vocal and instrumental—as well as band showcases in the cafeteria.
Highlights include a major concert by the Junior School students and a closing recital featuring talented musicians from the Middle and Senior School. The Middle–Senior School concerts and recitals are opened by students taking the IGCSE Music exam.
Another special feature is the “Prelude to London” concert, dedicated to students who will be performing in London. This serves as a farewell-style concert, where they present their best performances and demonstrate their readiness to represent the school internationally.
