Beacon Field was filled with energy, laughter, and community spirit during this year’s Junior School Walkathon in support of Yayasan Peduli Tuna Daksa (Limbs for the Limbless). Students, parents, and teachers came together for a bright and memorable morning, united by a meaningful cause that helps provide prosthetic limbs to underprivileged amputees across Indonesia.
From the very beginning, the atmosphere was vibrant and uplifting. Families gathered early in the morning, dressed in colourful attire and ready to take part in the event with enthusiasm and excitement. As music filled the field and students began their laps, Beacon Field transformed into a lively celebration of teamwork, kindness, and community connection.
One of the highlights of the morning was the fun water stations set up around the walking track. Students delighted in running through sprinklers, splashing through water games, and cooling off with water guns while parents and teachers cheered them on. The joyful laughter and smiling faces reflected the strong sense of togetherness that made the event so special. It was heartwarming to witness students walking side by side with their families and teachers, enjoying the experience while also understanding the importance of giving back to others.
Beyond promoting healthy activity and teamwork, the Walkathon served as a valuable opportunity for students to develop empathy, compassion, and social responsibility. Through participating in the event, students were reminded that even small actions can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The Junior School Walkathon was not only a celebration of fitness and fun, but also a powerful reflection of our school’s commitment to service, care, and community. A heartfelt thank you goes to all students, parents, teachers, and staff members who contributed to making the event such a memorable and successful occasion.
