At Beacon Academy, we believe that peace begins with small acts of kindness, understanding, and care. To commemorate World Peace Day on 21 September 2026, our Preschool and Junior School communities came together through meaningful, age-appropriate experiences that encouraged students to reflect on what peace means and how we can contribute to a more harmonious world.
Although the celebrations were designed differently for each age group, they shared the same message: peace starts with us.
Little Hands, Peaceful Hearts
For our Preschool learners, World Peace Day was celebrated through the theme “Little Hands, Peaceful Hearts.”
Through engaging, hands-on activities, our youngest learners explored the values of kindness, tolerance, friendship, and unity, discovering how small acts of care can make a difference.
The celebration included a joyful assembly featuring songs and dances performed by our little ones, encouraging them to express the spirit of friendship and togetherness.
The simple message of the day was: “Let’s be friends and help each other!”
The spirit of peace was also extended to home through the Family Peace Project, inviting K1 and K2 students and their families to connect, create, and talk about kindness and positive relationships.
Shining a Light for Peace
For our Junior School students, World Peace Day was marked with a special Peace Day Assembly, featuring dance, music, and interactive question-and-answer activities.
Students were encouraged to think about how they can contribute to a peaceful community — by listening to others, showing kindness, resolving differences respectfully, and supporting those around them.
The assembly ended with a special candle-lighting moment. With the lights dimmed, students held their battery-operated candles and joined together in singing a peace song.
The gentle glow of the candles served as a powerful reminder that every individual can be a light for peace.
Growing a Culture of Peace
From the joyful celebrations of our Preschool children to the reflective moments shared by our Junior School students, World Peace Day at Beacon Academy highlighted how values of peace can grow alongside our learners.
For our youngest students, peace begins with kindness, friendship, and helping one another. As they grow, these values develop into empathy, respect, cooperation, and responsibility.
At Beacon Academy, we are proud to nurture globally minded young people who understand that creating a better world begins with the choices we make every day.
Small hands can show kindness.
Young hearts can choose peace.
Together, we can build a more peaceful world.
