Beacon Academy Welcomes Families at Parent Orientation Programme

Jakarta, 7 August 2026 – Beacon Academy was delighted to welcome parents from the Junior, Middle, and Senior School communities to the Parent Orientation Programme on Friday, 7 August 2026, marking the start of the 2026–2027 academic year. The event not only prepared families for the year ahead but also provided a warm opportunity to welcome the many new students and parents joining the Beacon family for the first time.

The evening commenced with a presentation by the Head of School, reflecting on Celebrating a Year of Excellence and showcasing the many achievements of the 2025–2026 academic year. Highlights included the outstanding IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Class of 2026 results, two Year 10 students receiving the prestigious Cambridge Learner Award as Top in Indonesia for Global Perspectives and First Language English, as well as numerous accomplishments across academics, sports, the arts, and a wide range of successful school events. The presentation concluded with an overview of the exciting programmes, initiatives, and opportunities planned for the 2026–2027 academic year, inspiring families as they embark on another year of learning and growth together.

This was followed by an inspiring presentation from the School Director, who introduced The Beacon Way—Lead with Character, Think with Purpose, and Pursue Excellence—reaffirming the school’s vision of nurturing learners who are academically accomplished, compassionate, and prepared to make a positive impact in the world.

Parents also had the opportunity to meet homeroom and subject teachers, connect with programme coordinators, and gain valuable insights into the curriculum, learning expectations, and plans for the year ahead. The sessions reinforced the importance of a strong partnership between home and school in supporting every learner’s success.

A key focus of this year’s orientation was student wellbeing. Parents were introduced to several new initiatives, including the appointment of a Junior School Wellbeing Coordinator, a new Middle and Senior School Counsellor and Behavioural Coach, and the continued implementation of the Second Step social-emotional learning programme.

Beacon Academy also announced the opening of its new Wellbeing Centre in September 2026, providing students with dedicated wellbeing support through counselling and selected therapeutic services in collaboration with families and external specialists where appropriate. The Parent Orientation Programme was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connections with both new and returning families as the Beacon community looks forward to another inspiring year of learning, growth, and partnership.
