Celebrating Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day at Beacon Academy

Beacon Academy proudly celebrated the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia with a meaningful flag-raising ceremony attended by the Beacon community, including parents, teachers, staff and students.

The ceremony was a special opportunity for our community to come together, honour Indonesia’s independence and reflect on the values that continue to inspire our young people. A particular appreciation was given to the student ceremony officers, who prepared diligently for approximately two weeks. Their discipline, commitment and sense of responsibility were clearly demonstrated throughout the ceremony, reflecting the true spirit of independence through action.

This year’s national theme, “Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur” — Indonesia Sovereign, Just and Prosperous, also provided an important message for our students.

Sovereignty means having the confidence and responsibility to make our own choices. For students, this can be reflected through independence, discipline and the courage to do what is right.
Justice means respecting and treating others fairly and with kindness, regardless of differences. At school, this means showing respect towards friends, teachers and every member of our community.
Meanwhile, prosperity is not simply about material wealth. It also means having opportunities to learn, develop, support one another and create a safe, positive and inspiring environment where everyone can thrive.
At Beacon Academy, we believe that education goes beyond academic achievement. It is about nurturing confident, responsible and compassionate young people who are prepared to make a positive contribution to their communities.

As we commemorate 81 years of Indonesian independence, may the spirit of independence continue to inspire our students to stand with confidence, act with integrity and grow together.

Dirgahayu Republik Indonesia ke-81!
Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur.
