Celebrating Confidence and Student Voice – Show and Tell Competition

We are delighted to share the success of our recent Show and Tell Competition, a much-loved event in our Year 1 and 2 classrooms. Our students impressed us with their confidence, enthusiasm, and commitment to sharing their ideas with others. Each child prepared carefully, showing responsibility and ownership of their learning — important qualities we nurture through the PYP.

This event was more than just a presentation opportunity; it was a celebration of student voice and agency. Children practised key Approaches to Learning skills, including communication, social, and thinking skills, as they planned, organised, and presented their topics. They demonstrated courage by speaking in front of their peers and creativity in the way they expressed their ideas.

We were proud to witness the growth in confidence and expression from all participants, not only from the finalists but from every student who took part. Their ability to communicate clearly, listen respectfully, and support each other’s efforts made this event truly special.

At our school, events like this highlight how learning goes beyond the classroom and helps children develop skills that last a lifetime. It was a true celebration of learning, community, and the joy of sharing ideas.
