Junior School Literacy Day 2024

On September 9th, the students of Beacon Academy dove into the enchanted world of books. Highlighting the importance of reading and literacy, the JS students enjoyed browsing through and sharing stories from different cultures and appreciated making new friends.

Our students were not just passive participants but active contributors to the event. They eagerly shared their phonics, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through various classroom activities. The JS students, in particular, took the initiative to visit groups from other years, sharing their favourite books and love of reading. Their enthusiasm and engagement brought joy to the classroom and fostered new friendships.

The highlight of our day was the character costume parade. Our students dressed up as their favourite characters from books they read and liked. The variety of characters and the students’ creativity in creating the costumes were captivating.
