Celebrating Creativity: Highlights from the MSS and IBDP Art Exhibition 2025

From April 14 to 17, 2025, the Middle School Common Area of Beacon Academy blossomed into a dynamic gallery space, as the MSS and IBDP Art Exhibition brought the vibrant creativity of our Middle and Senior School students to center stage. The showcase was a testament to imagination, artistic growth, and the boldness of self-expression—inviting the entire Beacon community into a world shaped by student vision and creative exploration.

The Lower Secondary Cambridge Art Exhibition featured a stunning collection of artworks across all year levels. Year 6 students presented beautifully detailed still life drawings and paintings, each piece offering a quiet yet compelling reflection on form, composition, and colour. Year 7 artists took a more expressive route, unveiling powerful self-portraits and three-dimensional paper clay sculptures inspired by contemporary Polish artist Karolina Romanowska. Their work demonstrated a deep engagement with emotion, texture, and the human form.

Year 8 students explored identity through bold 3D mask sculptures, fusing personal stories with symbolic elements. Their eye-catching typography pieces brought language to life through vibrant colour and movement, while intricate perspective drawings revealed a growing technical mastery of space and depth. Across all levels, the exhibition reflected a blossoming visual language and a willingness to take creative risks.

Senior School students elevated the exhibition further with a rich variety of artworks—ranging from conceptual sculptures to deeply personal paintings. The IBDP Art Exhibition served as a powerful capstone, representing the culmination of years of inquiry, experimentation, and artistic reflection. Each piece told a story, carefully considered and beautifully executed.

This year’s exhibition was not only a visual celebration but also a meaningful journey through the process of artistic discovery. Congratulations to all our talented student artists for sharing their voices so courageously, and heartfelt thanks to the Beacon community for supporting and celebrating this powerful expression of student creativity.
