Unity in Diversity at Beacon Academy!

This year’s Diwali celebration at Beacon truly embodied the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.” The much-awaited event, planned meticulously for over a month, brought together students and teachers from Year 1 to Year 12 in a vibrant display of culture, creativity, and togetherness.

The program began with a heartfelt prayer, followed by an energetic dance dedicated to Lord Ganesha by our Junior School girls. Their graceful performance, accompanied by the thunderous beats of the dhol and drums played by the Senior School boys, created an electrifying atmosphere and set the perfect tone for the day.

Next came the highlight of the morning, the Ram Leela Mime presented by Year 5 students. Through expressive movements and dramatic storytelling, they beautifully narrated the story of Ramayana, helping everyone understand the deeper meaning behind Diwali, the victory of good over evil.

The celebration continued with lively cultural dances. Year 2 and Year 4 students showcased the colorful folk traditions of Garba and Bhangra, while Year 3 presented a heartwarming Unity Dance, capturing the joyful essence of India right here in Jakarta. The Middle and Senior School students then took the stage with stunning performances that left the audience spellbound, while our talented singers filled the hall with melodious festive tunes.

Adding to the excitement, our teachers took the spotlight, donning traditional costumes from Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Jammu & Kashmir. Their performances of Ghoomar, Bharatanatyam, and Rauf reflected India’s incredible cultural richness.

The event concluded with a cheerful performance by our youngest students from Year 1 and 2, dancing to a lively Diwali song that left everyone smiling.

The celebration was a true testament to our school’s harmony and inclusivity, a joyous reminder that festivals become even more meaningful when celebrated together. What a magnificent start to Diwali 2025!
