On 17 April 2026, our Junior School came alive with colour, music, and storytelling as we celebrated Cultural Heritage Day—an engaging experience that brought the world into our classrooms. The event offered our learners a meaningful opportunity to explore and appreciate diverse cultures through interactive, hands-on activities.
Students rotated through a range of learning centres, each highlighting a unique cultural experience. They enjoyed lively songs and dances from the Philippines, discovered new vocabulary from African languages, and participated in creative art activities inspired by global traditions. A highlight of the day was when students tried replicating simple dishes from India and Japan, allowing them to connect with cultures through taste and collaboration.
Beyond the excitement, the day encouraged students to reflect on the importance of cultural diversity. They began to understand that while traditions and languages may differ, shared values connect us all. These experiences help nurture empathy, respect, and international-mindedness—essential qualities in today’s globalised world.
Cultural Heritage Day also emphasised the value of experiential learning, where students actively engage with real-world contexts.
