As we honor the sacred month of Ramadan, the Ramadan Iftar event took place on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Middle and Senior School (MSS) Cafeteria. This gathering brought together parents, teachers, students, staff, and alumni, fostering a sense of community and generosity that underscores the values of tolerance and unity in our diverse environment, where we proudly stand as one family, the Beacon Family.
The evening commenced with a prayer led by Junior School students and a recitation of the Al-Qur’an by Middle-Senior School students. It proceeded with a sermon delivered by the preacher, followed by the call to prayer (Azan) and the breaking of the fast together. A delightful array of Potluck dishes was enjoyed, complemented by generous Sembako (Basic Food Necessities) donations from parents, students, and teachers, which enriched the experience for all attendees. The outpouring of Sembako donations from parents across all school levels, from Preschool to Senior School, facilitated the creation of Sembako packages with the assistance of students and teachers.
These contributions, in conjunction with the school’s packages, were distributed among our dedicated cleaners, vigilant security personnel, diligent gardeners, meticulous building maintenance staff, admin team, as well as to two mosques – Al-Muttaqin Nurul’Adl and Al-Ihsan Mosque in Pegangsaan Dua, Kelapa Gading. Additionally, contributions reached the Al-Mukhlisin Orphanage Foundation and individuals in need within the vicinity of the school, including homeless individuals, exemplifying the ethos of giving and community support.
